Class Objectives
/Class Outline
By visiting and investigating educational institutes and schools which implement distinctive and modern educational policies, students will understand strengths and values of these institutes and learn management perspectives.
In this course, by visiting and investigating educational institutes and schools which implement distinctive and modern educational policies, students will understand strengths and values of these institutes and learn management perspectives (ideas, systems, and know-how). In addition, students will 1) conduct preliminary research, 2) hands-on training, 3) presentation and writing reports. Researchers and practitioners will provide instructions. 
Class Schedule This course includes 1) preliminary research 2) field research and 3) reports and presentations based on analysis. Students are allowed to select which educational institutes to visit based on their research topics.
1) Preliminary research
Students conduct the following activities
・Collect materials on selected educational institutes
・Clarify research purpose by confirming educational and social significance of the educational institute
・Clarify questions to ask
2) Field research
・Collect data through interview
3) Presentation and report
・Writing  report on values and environments of the educational institute (strength, resources, etc.) by referring to the questions
・Deliver a presentation based on a report and conduct discussion
・Submit a revised report

The instructor will give an advice on what a desirable teacher is like in the situation of today’s education reform. Based on the advice, students should identify their own challenge and make an effort to overcome the issues.
