"Understand research trends concerning education which nurtures logical thinking. Also, acquire abilities to plan classes which develop students' and pupils' logical thinking.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Based on research and materials published both overseas and in Japan, we will consider the background and reasons why the need for education which develops logical thinking skills has increased. Also, we will study practical research on how logical thinking is taught and introduced to students and puplis. Based on these investigations, students will develop evaluation methods intended for classes and performances, considering what sort of classes are required to develop logical thinking abilities.  "

Introduce how classes will be conducted, explaining the purposes and contents of the course.
lesson2:The importance of logical thinking and international research trends
(lecture) Overview concepts of logical thinking, backgrounds of needs for the development of logical thinking skills, and international research trends in the development of logical thinking skills

(lecture) Overview Japanese research trends in the development of logical thinking skills by using research and assesments such as the National Assessment of

lesson4:Introduction of practical research on the development of logical thinking skills
Introduce practical studies on education intended to develop logical thinking ability in elementary, middle, and high schools.

Based on Lesson 2, students will collect materials published in Japan and conduct research, aiming at course development

Based on groups formed lesson 1, students will find out about current problems by investigating case studies and collected materials

Aiming to deal with problems found in lesson 9, students will establish new methods and plan courses which are designed for the development of logical thiking skills

By reveiwing the findings and results of case studies and the bibliographic survey, students will exchange their ideas and summarize their thoughts on the ideal ways to nurture logical thinking skills.

Summarize a gist of materials (article/text) including information gathering and consideration of relevant documents.
 
Requirements  
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on the following points:
(1)Bibliographic survey and case study: Able to collect and summarize collected materials which are relavant to class development
(2)Report: Able to find problems based on bibliographic surveys and case studies related to education for logical thinking. In order to deal with  problems, develop evaluation methods and create new courses which develop logical thinking skills.
