Students in this course are expected to propose and conduct a research project which makes a significant contribution to the field of instructed Japanese as a second language.  They are also expected to deliver the research effectively through oral presentations and research papers.

The course is designed to allow students to develop a more in-depth understanding of the teaching Japanese as a second language in various settings, through an examination of different theoretical approaches. A second goal is to provide students with opportunities to pursue individual research questions related to the field of Japanese language education and language testing.

You must be able to demonstrate the significance of your research first.  Otherwise, your plan of research is not considered valid.  In order to come up with a meaningful research topic, you need to read relevant literature exhaustively and critically review them. 
Requirements Be sure to apply the feedback you receive at the seminar to your next presentation. 
Grading Method Students will be evaluated comprehensively based on their oral presentations and research progress.
