Analyzes and considers historical/social background, philosophy and system of special needs education. Also, considers what classes of special needs education should be based on new curriculum guidelines.

Lesson 2 Special needs education and it social and economic backgrounds: The relationship between Warnock Report and New Liberalism. Analyze and discuss on its strategies
Lesson 3 Discuss and analyze the relationship of the curricula in general education and special needs education
Lesson 4 Curriculum for special needs education 1: Effect of changes in the curriculum
Lesson 5 Curriculum for special needs education 2: Case study
Lesson 6 Curriculum for special needs education 3: Vocational guidance
Lesson 7 Analyze types of lesson(universal designed lesson, cooperative learning, and jigsaw learning)

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Based on the lecturer's experience as a speech-language pathologist in the U.S., the lecture will give students how the special education systems are different between Japan and the U.S., and how to work with students who have learning disabilities and other related disabilities.
