The Basic Study in Curriculum Design C discusses and considers recent research theme on significance, principles and methods of organizing school curriculum in Japan and England to have the required knowledge and ability to design school curriculum for developing the quality of school education. |

Lesson 1: Significance and methods of school curriculum Students understand the significance and methods of organizing school curriculum. Lesson 2: Principles and methods of organizing school curriculum in Japan Students analyze the principles and methods of organizing school curriculum in Japan. Lesson 3: Principles and methods of organizing school curriculum in England Students analyze the principles and methods of organizing school curriculum in England. Lesson 4: Characteristics and roles of school subjects in primary school level Students analyze characteristics and roles of school subjects in primary school level. Lesson 5: Characteristics and roles of school subjects in junior high school level Students analyze characteristics and roles of school subjects in junior high school level. Lesson 6: Characteristics and roles of school subjects in senior high school level Students analyze characteristics and roles of school subjects in senior high school level. Lesson 7: Results of national survey on primary school students in Japan Students collect national survey data on primary school students' performance and analyze the results of the survey. Lesson 8: Results of national survey on junior high school students in Japan Students collect national survey data on junior high school students' performance and analyze the results of the survey. Lesson 9: Results of national survey on senior high school students' performance in specified tasks Students collect national survey data on senior high school students' performance in specified tasks and analyze the results of the survey. For lesson 1 through 6, collect previous theoretical and practical studies on school curriculum in Japan and England, and read them carefully. For lesson 7 through 10, collect national and international (PISA and TIMSS) survey data on students' performance and analyze them carefully. For lesson 11 through 13, think about the design of school curriculum for each of primary and secondary levels. For lesson 14 and 15, make a plan to improve systematic curriculum and cross-subjects curriculum in school , and to do curriculum management through PDCA cycle. |
