Economic anthropology is a field of study that examines the human activity of the economy through fieldwork and from a broad perspective of human history. In this class, we will discuss about an anthropological perspective to understand the themes of "Company," "Design," "Community," and “Value,” which could be topics in economics and business study. The aim is to gain a new perspective to overcome our "common sense.

3rd – 5th: Read the handout excerpted from "The Silo Effect " in advance and write down your questions and thoughts after the class to prepare for the discussion in the next class.
6th - 8th: Read the handout excerpted from "Designs for the Pluriverse " in advance and take notes on their questions and thoughts after the class to prepare for the discussion in the next class.
9th-11th: Read the handout excerpted from "Designs for the Pluriverse" in advance and prepare for the discussion in the next class by writing down your questions and thoughts after the class.
12th-14th: Read the handout excerpted from "Toward An Anthropological Theory of Value” in advance, and after the class, write down your questions and thoughts to prepare for the discussion in the next class. 
Requirements Basic knowledge of economic anthropology is not required. 
Grading Method Evaluation will be based on active participation in class discussions (60%) and final paper(40%).
