Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The purpose of this course is to deepen students' understanding of the characteristics of the Japanese and Chinese languages through the reading of Chinese classics (prose). In the class, students will learn the basics of Chinese literature research in Japan by repeating the reading of Chinese texts over and over again. The students will then examine each work one by one to pursue the author's thoughts and ideas. Each student will compile a series of works into a document and present it to the class, which will then examine and discuss the works in groups. The course will focus on the writings of Pu Songling as a specific work, and students will learn the basics necessary for the study of Chinese literature in Japan. |
