Students will think about the theme of what “Translation” is using various literary translation in modern Asia. This course is designed to improve students’ understanding of translation studies, The relationship between author and translation, cultural reception, historicity and diversity, while also considering the implications of the novels.  Hopefully students will learn ways to examine the intentions  expressed by the word “Japan” from multiple angles, as well as gaining a critical understanding of “Japan.”
