report

The follicular development and ovulation of mammalian oocytes are regulated by pituitaly secreted gonadotropins. These hormones act on follicular cells and stimulate the specific signaling pathways, which result in the activation of gene expressions. Using specific gene knockout mice, the roles of the hormones and the targeting genes have been investigated. In this class, I show the current topics of mine and others in this field to understand how to ovulation in mammals.
