Class Objectives /Class Outline |
Students study recent topics on oral and brain functions in this seminar, and learn the advanced methods and strategies to investigate the molecular, cellular, and system mechanisms underlying those physiological functions. |
Class Schedule |
lesson1: Introduction of recent topics on oral and brain functions lesson2: Introduction of recent topics on oral and brain functions lesson3: Introduction of materials, methods and experimental strategies for science research lesson4: Introduction of materials, methods and experimental strategies for science research lesson5: Reading and understanding the research paper lesson6: Reading and understanding the research paper lesson7: Reading and understanding the research paper lesson8: Reading and understanding the research paper lesson9: Considering specific aims of your research project lesson10: Considering specific aims of your research project lesson11: Learning deeply from papers related to the project lesson12: Learning deeply from papers related to the project lesson13: Experimental planning lesson14: Experimental planning lesson15: Oral presentation
Function and dysfunction of the systems of taste sensing, salivary secretion, mastication, swallowing, feeding control, and emotion will be discussed. Students learn their molecular, cellular and system mechanisms, their physiological relevance, and their pathophysiological aspects caused by functional deficits of specific molecules. The capability of designing the research project and constructing the experimental strategies will be cultivated. |
