In this lecture, students aiming to become Phoenix Leaders in the A-bombed city of Hiroshima will be given an overview of the overall damage caused by the Hiroshima atomic bombing, focusing on the human suffering, environmental impact, and the road to recovery, based on the most advanced scientific evidence. This will be followed by an overview of the damage caused by the Fukushima nuclear accident and a discussion of issues related to reconstruction. Through the findings of this class, students will deepen their consideration of the significance of the recovery from the Fukushima nuclear accident.

Review
In this lecture, the effects of A-bomb radiation exposure and the process of recovery will be clarified based on scientific evidence from many aspects, so please deepen your understanding by attending the lecture first. And then read "Fire of Life and Death" and other related literature to deepen your knowledge. 
Requirements None 
Grading Method The overall evaluation will be based on the evaluation of the reports and the participation in the class. Grading will be based on the following criteria: lecture report (40%), short field visit report (30%), and final assignment (30%).

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it  
Message Please grasp the overall picture of the damage caused by the atomic bombings and the reconstruction process based on scientific evidence. Then, as a Hiroshima University student studying to become a phoenix leader in the A-bombed city of Hiroshima, understand the inhumanity of the use of these weapons, and deepen your consideration of the meaning of peace and reconstruction sought by the A-bomb survivors.
