This cross-disciplinary course introduces students to multi-faceted aspects of universal peace. Each lesson focuses on an aspect of universal peace and includes discussion of relevant approaches to understand, attain, and/or maintain peace in a variety of socio-political conditions. Topics include the issues of poverty, famine, immigration, peacebuilding in conflict zones, gender disparity, and environmental conflicts. The course is designed to enable students to: (1) gain essential knowledge about the urgent issues of the present-day international community; (2) find conflict solutions by applying their individual knowledge and skills obtained from their major subject of study; (3) present the solutions in an accessible academic discourse.
