This course is one of the elective subjects in the category of "Sustainable Development Courses" for Common Graduate Courses. This category of courses aims to provide opportunities for students to understand the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set by an international agreement. It also aims to equip students with the ability to advance science to enable sustainable development and the ability to solve various challenges in society.

This course is designed to help the participants to develop skills to find solutions, from the viewpoint of his/her specialties, to urgent matters in the present-day international community. The participants gain the ability to present the solutions concretely and theoretically, while studying the specific cases and current status in each theme. There is a huge gap between the ideal and real society. This course provides the participants with knowledge helpful in explaining and overcoming that gap.

Participants are recommended to read the books/articles introduced in each class by instructors. 
Requirements This class will be conducted in an online format using MS Teams. However, students who have difficulty attending the class in real time will be able to view video recordings that will be distributed for a certain period of time (approximately one week) after each lesson. Details will be announced separately. 
Grading Method The online final report using the MS Form (80%) and Short comments for each session (20%). Details of the final exam and other issues will be explained in class.
