Review
No prior study or prior knowledge is required, except in the case of assignments given in advance. It is important that students tackle the questions posed in class seriously, learn how to think linguistically in the process, and feel a sense of wonder or serendipity when they are surprised by the freshness of the conclusions and knowledge obtained in the course of the discussion.
No preparation is required, but students are expected to review the class carefully by looking at the handout posted on moodle after class.
Requirements This class is intended mainly for international students who are interested in phonetics, phonology, linguistics, Japanese language education, etc. However, general students, including Japanese students, who are interested in the contents listed in this syllabus may also take this class. Depending on the situation, we might refuse to accept some students. Foreign students must be at least Level 3 or higher on the placement test administered at Morito.
