Liberal Arts Education To provide students with the opportunity to think about peace from various perspectives, such as war/conflict, the abolition of nuclear weapons, poverty, starvation, disaster, education and culture, and thereby to deepen their understanding of peace.
Expected Outcome 1. To be able to think about peace from multiple perspectives and express their own opinions.
2. To understand and be able to explain various factors that prevent peace and the complex aspects involved, including conflicts between ideology and reality.

Class Objectives
/Class Outline Students who enrolled at Hiroshima University for the purpose of becoming medical professionals and life science researchers need to know the traces of their predecessors effort and need to keep thinking what is necessary for realization of the peaceful society. In this omnibus course, especially the faculty staffs of Kasumi Campus will plan to give lectures the various problems and hurdles to peaceful society due to War, Radiation disaster, Poverty, Famine, International support, Environmental destruction, Discrimination, Religion, Culture related to peace. In addition, this course with active and continuous participation will help students to become as the initiator and logical thinking for realization of a peaceful world.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it

Message Participate in the Peace Memorial Ceremony held especially at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and various other events on August 6, and think about what peace is.
Also visit the Peace Memorial Museum and experience the tragedy that happened in Hiroshima 74 years ago.

Other You are required to submit a report entitled "My Approach to Peace" as a common assignment for Peace Science Courses. When you fail to submit the report, the credits will not be awarded.
【Period of the report submission】
The 1st term course--> from April 30th to May 13th
The 2nd term course--> from July 1st to July 8th
The 3rd term course--> from October 28th to November 7th
Night program course--> Follow teachers’ instructions
