Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Various evaluations are required to offer education in accordance with each individual situation. In education for children with hearing impairments, a psychological evaluation will be conducted in addition to audiometry. This class will explain how to conduct those tests, how to interpret the test results, and the prospects for future development of those tests. It is expected that students will deepen understanding of educational counseling for children with hearing impairments.

Lesson 3: Procedures of audiometry and points needing consideration when they are conducted (Hayashida)
Lesson 4: Preliminary exercises on standard pure tone audiometry (Hayashida)
Lesson 5: Standard of pure tone audiometry  (practice) (Hayashida)
Lesson 6: Procedures of audiometry in the sound fields and items needing consideration (Hayashida)
Lesson 7: Preliminary exercises on audiometry in the sound fields (Hayashida)

Lesson 9: Treatment of the psychological tests on the lesson for children and the educational counseling with parents of hearing-impaired children (Shinkai)

Lesson1: Understand psychology and physiology relate to hearing.
Lesson 2-8: Understand features of audiometry
Lesson 9-11: Summarize related materials.
Lesson 12-15: Reading instruction of testing methods. 
Requirements It is desirable that student will have a basic knowledge of psychology and physiology of hearing impairment, and education for deaf and hard of hearing children. 
Grading Method Participation in exercise and practice (30%). Achievements on assignments. Examination or report assignments (70%).
