The purpose of this class is to deepen students' understanding of contents and things that need to be considered in a curriculum designed for the education of children with hearing impairments, focusing on the evaluation of hearing and the basics of the psychology of people with hearing impairments. |

Suggestions on Preparation and Review |
Students will learn new contents, so they are expected to review each class. Any questions will be welcomed. Lesson 1-2: Understand features of hearing and hearing impairments. Lesson 4: Understand anxiety of parents who have a deaf child. Lesson 5: Search for materials relate to teaching guidelines and educational laws. Lesson 6: Understand features of language acquisition and communication of people with hearing impairment. Lesson 7-8: Understand features of teaching for children with hearing impairment. |
Requirements |
This is a mandatory class in Kyouiku Shokuin Menkyo Hou (Teacher's license, especially for special needs education teachers) (Category three) |
Grading Method |
Students will be evaluated comprehensively based on commitment to lectures and assignments (20%), and a writing exam or a report (80%). |
