This lecture "Project Research" is a replacement subject for "Medical and Welfare Policy and Data Analysis".

This lecture is an internship-type lecture (intensive lecture) in which students participate in a research and development project carried out at a company during five consecutive days during the summer vacation.

In 2023, we will participate in computer science (system development), data science (data analysis), and intelligence science (AI field) projects at Mazda Motor Corporation, Micron Memory Japan Co., Ltd and Toppan INC. Through taking this lecture, you will not only experience the actual research and development practiced in companies, but also acquire practical skills such as the acquisition of skills to solve problems, the methodology for carrying out research and development, and the ability to report results and make presentations. We aim to acquire a wide range of abilities that are required by companies.

It is divided into the following three themes.

Theme 1. Experience developing an application consisting of a mobile application (iOS) and a backend system (cloud system). Using vehicle data, develop mobile applications for use in the field by sales/maintenance personnel, etc. Workshops will be held in a pair programming format, and systems will be developed by teams.

Theme 2. In order to make Mazda Motor Corporation's factory a smart factory, we will work on building a deep learning model using image data actually acquired at the manufacturing site. Individuals will select their own methods, preprocess data, build and train models, We repeat the evaluation and develop an algorithm that achieves high accuracy. Finally, we summarize and present the results and discuss them.

Theme 3. Information technology has become essential in cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing. Participants were divided into groups, and each group, under the guidance of the engineer in charge, sought out optimal solutions for arbitrary cases selected by each group, such as examining factory automation programs, converting equipment operating rates into data, and detecting wafer abnormalities. We will present a summary of the following.

Theme 4. We will take up various issues related to ICT in the region and tackle them by creating mockups and presentation materials. In particular, through outdoor activities (fieldwork), students will confirm the importance of knowing the actual site and acquire skills that can contribute to regional creation. On the final day, a results presentation session will be held to evaluate and discuss each other's results.
Class Schedule Guidance, lectures,
We will explain the project assignment, carry out the project assignment, organize and discuss the results, and present the results.

It will be divided into four themes (theme 1. to theme 4.).
