・1) Familiarize with some local algal species, 2) Gain hands-on experience in practical laboratory techniques and field exercises in phycology (Liao, Kato)
・To acquire basic knowledge to prey selection of fishes living in shallow sea area (Saito)
・Gaining the basic skills of feeding rate calculation using aquatic invertebrates (Wakabayashi) 
Class Schedule lesson 1: Sampling and making pressed specimens of seaweeds in front of Takehara St. (Kato, Liao)
lesson 2: Thin-layer chromatography of photosynthetic pigments of seaweeds (Kato, Liao)
lesson 3: Observation of embryos of Sargassum horneri (Kato, Liao)
lesson 4: Observation and sorting of pressed specimens (Kato, Liao)
lesson 5:Observation of stomach contents of brackhead seabreams (Saito)
lesson 6:Observation of size composition of blue mussel (Saito)
lesson 7: Calculation of feeding rate of jellyfish (Wakabayashi)
