Class Objectives /Class Outline |
Plants have great roles in man-environment system. Vegetation defines as collective plants growing outdoors. The targets of this lecture is to learn the basic knowledge for application to landscape design and regional planning, by understanding the ecological matters of vegetation in earth level, regional level and inside structure, and knowing concrete example of vegetation and planting. |
Class Schedule |
In the following schedule, 1 unit shows 45 minutes. So, "1-2" indicates 90 miutes. lesson 1-2 Understanding actual conditions of vegetation by field works (1 Natural vegetation) lesson 3-4 Plants organizing vegetation: Ecological class, Characteristics of plants lesson 5-6 Dynamics of vegetation: Succession of vegetation, Primeval vegetation and vegetation preservation mechanism appearing by relation with human lesson 7-8 Vegetation in the world and Japan: Types and distribution of vegetation in earth level and regional level lesson 9-10 Understanding actual conditions of vegetation by field works (2 Artificial vegetation) lesson 11-12 Characteristics of plants and greening: Plants for greening, Planting techniques lesson 13-14 Vegetation planning: Planning and maintenance of vegetation, Rooftop greening, Wall greening lesson 15 Vegetation planning in urban and regional area: Green space and disaster damage prevention, Biotope, Ecological network
