Criterion referenced Evaluation (Applicable only to targeted subjects for undergraduate students) | Program of Architecture and Building Engineering (Abilities and Skills) ・Understanding on cultivation of expert knowledge and ability for architecture and building engineering. ((1) General and basic knowledge and ability a) Basic knowledge and ability for architectural design and planning) (Comprehensive Abilities) ・Understanding on education for self-development and self-improvement. (Being able to collect materials related to recent problems) ・Understanding on cultivation of ability for planning and exercising (Being able to accomplish their subjects and to summarize the results within a time limit. Experiencing collaborative works through experiments, practices and graduation theses.). |
Class Objectives /Class Outline |
Students are able to understand the contents of Architectural Environment I and II deeply, and to learn the operation of variable measurement tools and the methods of data collection and analysis. |
Class Schedule |
lesson1 Guidance lesson2 Assessment of house by CASBEE for home (detached house) 1, Introduction and outline of CASBEE lesson3 Assessment of house by CASBEE for home (detached house) 2, Luminous environment lesson4 Assessment of house by CASBEE for home (detached house) 3, Thermal environment lesson5 Assessment of house by CASBEE for home (detached house) 4, Conservation of natural resources lesson6 Assessment of house by CASBEE for home (detached house) 5, Effect on the neighborhood, region and earth lesson7 Assessment of house by CASBEE for home (detached house) 6, Comprehensive assessment lesson8 Measurement of amount of ventilation lesson9 Measurement of daylight factor lesson10 Masurement of noise lesson11 Theory and characteristics of various methods for temperature measurement lesson12 Measurement of heat load of cooking instruments for commercial use lesson13 Measurement of micro crimate lesson14 Analysis of urban environment by GIS lesson15 Psychological evaluation for visual stimuli
In the first half of this seminar, students assess their designed houses by CASBEE. Through the work, students learn the calculation methods of physical elements. Additionally, students understand the meaning of planning with the consideration from the various viewpoints. In the second half, students are divided into few groups and each group conducts an experiment in every week on a rotation system. Students have to analyse the data obtained and to submit reports by next lesson.
The contents of experiments sometimes change. Students should come to a first lesson, because the whole schedule may change largely. |
Text/Reference Books,etc. |
Textbooks are distributed in first lesson. |

Suggestions on Preparation and Review |
In the first half, a part of manual of CASBEE for home is distributed. Students should review it before a lesson. In the second half, students should review a textbook, because the contents of some experiments are not included in Architectural Environment I and II. |
Requirements |
In the first half, it is desirable that students ask a teacher and TA positively, to solve questions and/or unclear points in a lesson. In the second half, lateness is strictly prohibited, because some experiments spend whole 90 minutes of a lesson. |
Grading Method |
Reports of assessment by CASBEE in the first half (50%) and reports of experiments in the second half (50%) |
