The objective of this class is to understand the following items of organic chemistry, by the lecture of properties, synthesis, and reactions of benzenes and carbonyl compounds.
1. Electronic structure, reactivity, and physical properties of conjugated molecules
2. Aromaticity, stability, and reactivity of benzene derivatives
3. Electrophilic substitution of aromatic compounds
4. Electrophilic addition of carbonyl compounds and applications to organic synthesis
5. Chemical properties of carboxylic acid and its reaction
