We accepts various students from high schools where different curricula and courses are taught. Those who are accustomed to passive learning in high schools might feel anxious about learning in the University where independence is respected. In light of this, the seminar provides an occasion for promoting communication with faculty members to cultivate intelligent interests by attending and joining various activities. Expected results are as follows:
1. Shaping an independent learning attitude
2. Developing problem discovery skills
3. Understanding the diversity of perspectives
4. Learning how to find materials (such as use of the Library)
5. Learning reading comprehension, sentence composition polishing, making a good presentation and having a good discussion
6. Fostering students’ discussion skills with faculty members and between students

Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Students are divided into small groups and a faculty member is assigned for each group. Under supervision, various activities, such as surveys, experiments, discussions, seminars, which are related to science and technology, are conducted. This seminar develops students’ scientific way of thinking and the appropriate self-expression skills and motivates intelligent activities from the early entrance stage. In addition, this seminar promotes communication with faculty members and between students to support the preparation for the group learning. 
Class Schedule Different from lecture style, this seminar uses a two-way experience-based learning style, such as seminars, discussions, experiments, training or field research. Specific contents may vary by groups.

Requirements  
Grading Method The following six points are used for evaluation:
1. Independent learning activity and attitude.
2. Sufficient deep thinking and understanding ability.
3. The ability of collecting sufficient materials to solve a problem or to raise a problem.
4. An appropriate presentation is performed:
      - The idea has been communicated to the audience correctly
      - The student is able to understand the others’ opinions
5. Sufficient communication with a faculty member and other students by actively taking part in discussions and activities.
6. An essay of sufficient quality has been submitted to summarize this seminar.
