Class Objectives

The goal is to acquire the ability to logically and critically examine one's thoughts based on evidence and to properly express oneself against the historical and contemporary challenges that humanity and society have faced.

  Based on the philosophy and beliefs of Dr. Yunus, who won the Nobel Peace Prize 2006 for his social business “microfinance”, students will learn philosophy and methods of social business to develop their empathy and understanding of social problems, and discuss the solutions on the selected social problem.  
Class Schedule Kasumi Campus will hold the "First Annual IPE" on the 3rd frame and the "Education Seminar" on the 4th frame.

Ex exudative and interactive learning forms are taken away from the lecture format, such as lectures, discussions, experiments, practical training, and on-the-ground surveys.

Students are expected to summarize their presentations and discussions on the selected theme in a report. Instructions on how to prepare the report will be given in class. (The PowerPoint presentation will also be provided in class.)

Social entrepreneurs who develop social businesses will participate.

Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it In 2010, based on the achievements of her research, Prof. Moriyama established DPP Health Partners, Inc., a Hiroshima University venture company that supports disease management, health promotion, and health management using telehealth IT technology (former Chairman of the Board). She is still involved in the creation of new businesses. 
Message Prof. Moriyama and the instructor invited in this program have established and been working on various joint projects with the Grameen Group (Bangladesh), founded by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner. Prof. Moriyama would invite the officials as well to hear their stories and discuss them.
