Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This course is designed for undergraduate students to share the essential theoretical knowledge for recognizing the global health problems and present public health issues, including necessary preventive and control measures.
The overall objectives of the course for students are to:
1. Define the global health and explain the present public health problems, services and future needs.
2. Identify the Japan public health burden, including lifestyle related diseases and suitable interventions to overcome the situations.
3. Describe population heath importance and formulate the development approaches in community health services.
4. Develop communication skills and describe the health promotion approaches to improve global health status.
5. Continue and increase health related English communication skill.

Specific course objectives:
After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
1. Distinguish the global environmental and occupational health and state the safety approaches.
2. Detect the impact of globalization and compute the challenges of urban health care management.
3. Acknowledge the achievement of safe motherhood initiatives and evaluate the success of global goals.
4. Estimate the trend of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and consequences of public health nutrition.
5. Explain strategic communication and importance of early preparedness for disaster management.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Instructor with practical experience as a physician and public health expert to work in WHO and Ministry of Health will provide lectures based on global health context.  
Message It is recommended to understand the global health burden around the world. Students are encouraged to study more about public health issues and how to prevent and control diseases.
