Class Objectives /Class Outline |
<Course description> Adult nursing provides fundamentals of all clinical nursing areas, which covers from critical care to end-of-life care. Thus this course provides knowledge of major theories and concept related to adult nursing from all health levels and stages. First students study disease structures of Japan, and then pursue nursing care from primary prevention to tertiary prevention with holistic view points. <Objectives> At the end of this class, students will - find scholarly interest in creating nursing care for all kinds of health conditions, through learning expanding nursing care fields and nurses' roles and functions. - be able to think clinical ethics / ethical clinical judgement on how people die and care for dying people - learn about primary to tertiary prevention of dying with peace and dignity by learning patterns of illness trajectory, and consider way of living. - Learn about evidence-based clinical practice (EBCP) which is necessary to provide patient safety and quality care. And learn about holistic assessment frameworks on patients. - Learn about theories and skills on patient education and behavior change. - Learn about acquisition and reacquisition of self care |

Faculty with extensive clinical experience, including clinical experience in hospitals in Japan and overseas, working at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, and research-based community activities, will lecture on the importance and superiority of nursing, and provide nursing activities from a wide perspective. |
