Class Objectives /Class Outline	This course focus on helth problems in elderly people. Students are provided the opportunity to master nursing technologies in laboratory situation.
Class Schedule	lesson1: Characteristic health problems, Nursing techniques, and Overview of assessment of the elderly patients.(new) lesson2: Assessing the elderly patients (fever, pain, pruritus, dehydration, vomiting, edema, and fatigue).(new) lesson3: Nursing Process on adjusting life activity function on elderly people: excretory function, life rhythm.(new) lesson4: Nursing Process on adjusting life activity function on elderly people: basic activity on daily life.(new) lesson5: Surgical nursing for elderly people.(new) lesson6: Care to elderly people having disease; Bedsore care(new) lesson7: Care to elderly people having disease; Dementia nursing(Fujiwara) lesson8: Group Work; case study (new) lesson9: Nursing care for elderly patients with eating and swallowing disorders due to Parkinson's disease.(new) lesson10: Practice to inject into the percutaneous gastrostomy tube.(new) lesson11: Care to elderly people having disease; Cancer Nursing(new) lesson12: Swallowing Assessment and Nutritional Care.(new) lesson13: Role play about care of elderly person with dysphagia.(Hirayama) lesson14: Presentation about the case study by students.(new) lesson15: Presentation about the case study by students.(new) Final examination is a paper test.
