Field study during 5 days in spring.  Laboratory works for identification of minerals and rocks.  Presentations of research results and submit the thesis.

Class Objectives

・Acquisition of skills for geological survey and  identification of minerals and rocks.
・Acquisition of skills for presentation of research result.
・Exercise to write thesis. 
Class Schedule 1. Field study during 5 days in spring to learn the basic technique of geological survey.
2. Learn the making method of geological map and column, and the other necessary figures for summary of geological survey  
3. Learn to identify the mineral through optical microscopy
4. If necessary, learn the method of chemical analysis of mineral and rock
5. Presentation of the result
6. Submit the thesis
All studies above are conducted in the group of 5 to 6 students.

Requirements Already acquired the credits of “Structural Geology” and “Petrology laboratory”
