Class Status within Educational Program (Applicable only to targeted subjects for undergraduate students) | Based on the physical background acquired through the lectures and exercises, each student is expected to solve any physical problem by him- or herself. |
---|
Criterion referenced Evaluation (Applicable only to targeted subjects for undergraduate students) | Physics (Abilities and Skills) ・The ability・skills to compile research and experiment results and solution to given issues into report. (Comprehensive Abilities) ・Problem-solving ability ・ability of research ・Communication skills ・The capacity of analysis and IT literacy |
Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The aim of this course is to acquire the physical concepts in solid state physics and the technical terms as much as possible. The students take part in experiments using synchrotron radiation and learn the experimental techniques. |
Class Schedule |
The students collect the information and references about the research subject, included the sample preparations and characterization, the acquirement of knowledge about synchrotron radiation, and an understanding of the technical terms in the solid state physics. The students cooperate with their colleagues to practice some experiments, and study the methodology of research in the field of electronic property. |
Text/Reference Books,etc. |
Not only the staffs but also the students pay special attention to the related topics discussed in the SCI papers. |
PC or AV used in Class, etc. |
|

|
Suggestions on Preparation and Review |
The references related to the subject should be read carefully, and the acquired knowledge and skills may be usefully utilized for the research. |
Requirements |
It is desirable that the students challenge to the research subject and actively participate to the experiments and discussions with the colleagues and the supervisors. |
Grading Method |
Evaluation will be comprehensively judged with the posture over the research study, the contents, the presentation, etc. Levels of participation to the discussion will be taken into consideration. |

|
Message |
The students are recommended to be familiar to scientific papers in English and to be interested in the information about synchrotron radiation and material sciences. |
Other |
Submission of the research results to some refereed journal is highly encouraged. |
Please fill in the class improvement questionnaire which is carried out on all classes. Instructors will reflect on your feedback and utilize the information for improving their teaching. |
