Class Status within Educational Program (Applicable only to targeted subjects for undergraduate students) | Building upon understanding of Western economic history learned in the classes Western Economic History 1 and 2, students will engage in collaborative reading of specialized texts in economic history during the first semester. In the second semester, students will set their individual research themes based on their own areas of interest. Through mid-term presentations and the preparation of final reports for individual research, students will lay the groundwork for their graduation thesis in their fourth year. |

Class Objectives /Class Outline |
In this seminar, we will conduct collective reading on Western economic history and provide guidance for individual research aimed at writing the graduation thesis. During the first semester, we will conduct collective reading in the field of economic history to foster a historical perspective on contemporary economic society. Concurrently, each student will explore their individual research theme.
In the summer seminar, students will present their research themes. In the second semester, students will give mid-term presentations for their individual research, leading up to presentations at the joint seminar with Kinki University and Senshu University in November. Students will compile the results of their individual research into a report, which is due at the end of January. |

In this seminar, writing a graduation thesis is must. Please participate in this seminar with that understanding. Individual research in the third year also serves as preparation for the graduation thesis. Please note that those who did not submit an individual research report during their third year will not be allowed to register for the graduation thesis. |
