Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The “Preliminary Seminar in Political Science and Sociology” for the 2024 academic year is designed to help students acquire the skills necessary for specialized exercises in political science and sociology, especially in the third year and beyond. Specifically, students will learn academic writing and presentation methods, as well as political science methodology, through practical exercises and reading of textbooks. In each class, the person in charge will first give a presentation based on a resume summarizing and supplementing the literature, followed by a question-and-answer session and discussion with other participants. Therefore, participants other than the person in charge of the presentation should read the literature each time and prepare comments and questions. |

Session 1: Depending on the number of students and their willingness, the class plan may be changed or additional literature may be added. Therefore, please be sure to attend the first guidance session to confirm the class contents and the way the class will be conducted. Session 2-4: Preparation is not required as the class is based on the handouts. Session 5-15: Those in charge of reporting should prepare materials in advance and prepare comments and questions that will serve as themes for discussion in class. They should also answer questions from other participants. Other participants should also read the text carefully and summarize their own opinions, positions, or questions. |
