Class Objectives
/Class Outline    A lecture on Basic South Asian Politics will be delivered this year.  South Asia is a region composed of 7 countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India, an emerging power of influence for the future in economy and security together with China, and six countries surrounding it have historically constituted a relatively isolated region from the rest of the world.
   Although this region had been traditionally evolved around India as a prime mover, each of other six countries is becoming less restraint due to the connectivity strategies of Chinese 'One Belt One Road' initiatives today.  These changes in the region make it more and more difficult to understand it or even India among others, if we just look at India alone.  Thus, this lecture is going to provide an opportunity to learn South Asia as a whole so that we can develop deeper understanding of the future of India, too.　　Afghanistan, a new entrant to the region from 2003, will be also touched upon when necessary.
   It is also important to know and learn the diverse politics in South Asia including the World Largest Democracy, India, in order for us to develop deeper understanding of politics in Japan and Western countries
