Class Objectives
/Class Outline This is an attempt to re-interpret the changes in international relations from non-Western perspectives that determined the development of contemporary politics in Asia.  In more concrete terms, how the decisions made by the United States and other developed countries that formed the global society after the end of the WWII were seen and responded by those political entities in Asia and other developing parts of the world will be examined.

lesson6: Making of the United Nations and the status of the developing countries
lesson7: Beginning of isolating developing countries: Years of post-WWII re-settlement
lesson8: Completing the isolation process of developing countries: The path to the Cold War
lesson9: Prices for the freedom for the emerging states in Asia: Western world and their ways of dissolving the colonial system
lesson10: Reconstructed Western world until the Nixon shocks: Why did Asia attract global attentions once again?
lesson11: Carter's Grand Design and his selection of developing countries
lesson12: Reaganomics and the New Cold War, a change that brought economic upsurge in Asian NIES
