With the advance of the information society, various information media have appeared and brought about considerable changes in school and social education. Although the information media have brought significant benefits to our lives, various problems of the shadow side of informatization have arisen, and sometimes they cannot be resolved by taking conventional approaches.
In this course, students will study a historical view of the information media that have appeared with the advances of the information society. Also, students will learn information retrieval methods using the Internet and understand how to use the latest information media, such as communication network services, for education and librarian business, etc. Students furthermore deepen understanding how to properly use the information media, focusing on the shadow side of the information society.

The main focus of this course is to obtain the knowledge for teacher-librarians in school libraries in "teaching". Students should learn by themselves the practical operations of information media, right after the course starts.
 
Requirements "Methodology on Application of Audio-visual Media" is lecture-oriented, since quite a lot of students are expected to take this intensive seminar.  Students will be required to submit reports assigned in every lecture.  
Grading Method Activities in class, Report, etc. are comprehensively evaluated.

Message "Methodology on Application of Audio-visual Media" is a necessary course for qualification for teacher-librarians in school libraries. There is a possibility that this course is limited to students who are supposed to obtain the teacher's license and who have deep wishes to become a teacher, if there are too many applicants to be accepted.
To acuire literacy for the information media, keep in mind that first you need is the knowledge, as is mentioned above in "Suggestions on Preparation and Review".
