“The teaching practice for lower and upper secondary schools I” for students who acquire teaching licenses for the subjects both lower and upper secondary schools is based on over a series of teaching practice provided by the Faculty of Education, Hiroshima University and is placed for a stage to develop teaching competencies. The main purpose is to develop practical skills in order to do responsible educational activities in schools through engaging in doing empirical researches on educational phenomena, with having opportunities as a teacher.
  In the view of the above mentioned purpose, in “the teaching practice for lower and upper secondary schools I”, teaching competencies for organize lessons such as research and development on teaching materials, making lesson plans, understanding pupils, giving lessons by student teachers themselves, and having reflective meetings should be focused on. Through this teaching practice in attached secondary schools to Hiroshima University, it must be the policy that student teachers should reconfirm the importance of teaching competencies and recognize the professional development as a teacher.

Conduct teaching materials research precisely.  
 
Requirements Students who obtain a junior high school or high school teacher's license.
Teaching practice for 10 days in early September at one school and 10 days in late September at another school. 
Students who take only the first half(early September at one school) or the second half of the course(lete September at another school) will not be accepted (credits will not be awarded). 
Grading Method Taking student teacher's practice contents and the degree of achievement of objectives into consideration, with evaluation benchmarks (6 items such as "Preparation and Teaching material research," "Ability and Techniques of guidance," "Observation and Review," "Student guidance," "Service and Participation, ""Attitude to practice teaching") and evaluation calculation, evaluated in 5 different levels; Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, Fail.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Affiliated school teachers give lectures on the outline of the school and the knowledge and understanding of actual teaching methods.
