Class Objectives /Class Outline |
●Class Objectives In this class, students will acquire the basic knowledge and skills of the educational counseling (including the significance of counseling and basic knowledge of theories and techniques) necessary to develop the ability of infants and school students to deepen their self-understanding and to develop the ability to live adaptively in a group by building preferable relationships. In addition, students will acquire the knowledge and skills of the educational counseling to properly grasp the developmental status, psychological characteristics, and educational issues of infants and school students, and to support the growth of individuality and personality.
●Class Outline In educational settings such as schools, children’s maladjustment problems (kindergarten / elementary school students, junior high school students, high school students) such as school refusal, bullying, misconduct / antisocial behavior, and developmental disabilities are occurring, and various issues are piled up even in the special needs education that started in recent years. In this class, students who aim to become teachers will acquire the basic knowledge and skills to think and practice what kind of effective support is possible while respecting the development and individuality of children. Specifically, we will give lectures (including exercises) on the knowledge to properly understand and support the issues (problems) of infants and school students, the knowledge and skills related to counseling, support methods for parents, in-school cooperation system between teachers, cooperation methods with specialized institutions outside the school, maintenance of teachers' own mental health, etc. |
