In this class, we will study various discourses and histories on the concept, essence, principles, and practices of beauty and art in order to understand the plastic arts as they are developed in educational settings. We will also think about the relationship between the plastic arts and society, and develop the basic skills to communicate their ideas.

References will be introduced in class as appropriate, including the reference books listed in a separate section. Students are encouraged to find and read a book that interests them during the semester. Information on exhibitions, etc. will also be introduced in class as appropriate. Students should have opportunities to think for themselves and exchange ideas. 
Requirements  
Grading Method Grades will be based on class participation including in-class assignments (60%) and end-of-term reports (40%).
