A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (English writer) will be dealt with from the viewpoints of religion, festivals, and morals. Cultures included in the English textbooks authorized by MEXT will also be dealt with.

lesson2: The relationship between language and culture will be examined with MEXT authorized textbooks as materials.
lesson3: The relationship between language and culture will be examined with Sapir=Whorf hypothesis as a material.
lesson4: The relationship between metaphor and culture will be examined with MEXT authorized textbooks as a material.
lesson5: The relationship between metaphor and culture will be examined with the theory of Lakoff and Johnson textbooks as a material.
lesson6: The sound of English will be examined with A Christmas Carol as a material.
lesson7: The relationship between language and culture depicted in A Christmas Carol will be examined.
