The purpose of this course is to make deeper understanding of science education to develop school science, through the analysis of history, theories, and practices of science education in museums in Japan and overseas. 
Class Schedule lesson1: Orientation, Regulations of museums in Japan.
Understand the aim and objectives of this course, and regulations of museums in Japan.

lesson2:  History of Museum Education
Understand the history of museum education from the viewpoint of relations with science education.

lesson3: Fundamental Theories of Learning in Science Museums
Understand fundamental theories of learning in science museums.

lesson4: Museums and Schools
Understand the characteristics of museum education through the comparison of school education.

lesson5: Utilization of Science Museums in School Sciences
Understand key points to develop sciences lessons with science museums, and make lesson plans using science museums.

lesson6: Museums and Civic Education
Understand the role of science museums for civic education from the view point of development of scientific literacy.

lesson7: Museum Education in Japan (1): Biwako Museum
Case study of Biwako Museum for deeper understanding of actual museum education in Japan.
