・Being able to acquire the practical methods of compensating disabilities and necessary accommodations according to characteristics of disabilities.
・Being able to acquire the ability of guiding method for encouraging students with disability to learn and the ability of making and utilizing method of teaching materials and aids for them to learn effectively.

The purpose of this course is to provide students, who are considering to engage in special needs education in the future, with an opportunity to raise their awareness of the issues and to further improve their skills for the future when they become a teacher. This course provides not only theoretical learning but also hands-on learning to boost the students’ understanding and recognition of education for special needs school.

This course will cover theoretical and practical aspects under the assumption that students will engage in special needs education in the future. Theoretical aspects will be taught in the lectures at the university and practical aspects will be learned through actual interactions with children of the special needs class in the university-affiliated Shinonome Elementary School or Junior High School.

Preparation and
Review
Study the contents of every lesson by yourself and prepare for your practical studies at Shinonome Elementary School and Junior High School. 
Requirements Students who have already finished teaching practice for obtaining a teaching certificate for special needs education and have taken a teacher employment examination or who wish to go to graduate school for special needs education.  
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on contributions in class, reports, and others.
