・Being able to conduct assessment on these tests based on understanding of traits of educational or psychological tests required in special needs education. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Evaluation should be done from various perspectives in order to conduct individualized education. In education for hearing- impaired children, psychological evaluation to consider the children’s educational engagement has been conducted in addition to physiological and pathological evaluations. Through this course, students will learn interpretations of those evaluation methods and the results, and the applications of the results to teaching. Also, this course aims for students to deepen understanding of the fundamentals of educational consultations for hearing impaired children. The content of this course is planned to include developmental tests, intelligence tests, language developmental tests. However, the content can be changed depending on the students’ learning experiences.

Examination or report

The objective of this course is not only to provide students with explanations of test methods but also for students to master the implementation by actually conducting a test. Therefore, you are required to attend all of the lessons because if you are absent from a lesson, you will learn less and also affect the operation of the lesson.

Lesson 1-3: Read a guideline on standard pure tone audiometry.
Lesson 4-5: Read a guideline on audiometry in the sound field.
Lesson 6-7: Read a guideline on speech audiometry.
Lesson 9-15: Read guidelines and materials on inspection methods. 
Requirements This course mainly target students in the Program in Special Needs School Teacher Education, Second Major (education for children with hearing impairments). The registration of the students who are not in this program can be limited because the number of test equipment is limited. Orientation will be held in the first lesson. If you are absent from the first lesson, you will not be allowed to take this course. It is desirable that students acquire credits for "Psychology of Hearing Impairments" and "Fundamentals of Education for Children with Hearing Impairments" before taking this course. 
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on commitment to exercises and assignments, accomplishment of assignments (20%), and an exam or a report (80%). A test report is a summary of the results of trial tests conducted among students in principle.
