The purpose of this course is for students to deepen understanding of things to keep in mind and basic points for teaching practice in special needs school (hearing impairments), including how to write a teaching plan, how to evaluate students’ performance, etc., and to acquire the basic knowledge and skills to be prepared for teaching practice.

Lesson 1-15: The aim of this course is to link what you learn in this course with your practical studies at a special needs school in the next academic year. You should not separate this course from other courses. You should associate what you learn in this course with what you have learned in courses for elementary education and link what you learn in this course with your experience of school observations.
Students are also expected to read and familiarize yourself with the contents of the current textbooks, which you can find in the library. You will also learn to write a teaching plan using the prefectural format. Working and studying outside of classroom will be required.  
Requirements This is an elective course that corresponds to Section2 (Curriculum and Teaching methods)of the Teacher Certification for Special Needs School ( Education for children with hearing impairments) of the Teachers License Act.
You will be consulted with how to proceed with a lesson in the first lesson. 
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on participation to the class(30%), mini-reports(20%) and lesson plan to class and contents of trial lesson(50%).

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it  
Message As this course will take into consideration practical studies in special needs school (hearing impairments), you should be well aware of the differences from the ordinary education and education of other impairment fields when you study in this course. What you can do in the class hours is limited. Therefore, you are expected to work autonomously outside of class. As the aim of this course is to create a portfolio, you are expected to work thoroughly in every lesson.
