"The purpose of this course is to give students with opportunities to enhance their skills to express with music and to establish good understanding of music theory which is the basics of expression. These are the fundamental knowledge and skills needed for teaching music lessons. Based on what the students learn through this course, the students will examine key points of teaching music in elementary school.

Class Schedule Lesson 1: Orientation, examining activities and learning materials for elementary school music classes, and textbooks.
Lesson 2: Basics of musical notation on the staff and other notation systems.
Lesson 3: Note names and scales, head voice production, basics and practice of conducting.
Lesson 4: Various expressions using voice, children's subjectivity in expression.
Lesson 5: Utilization of recorders and keyboard harmonicas.
Lesson 6: Various instruments in the music room, electric instruments, and electronic instruments.
Lesson 7: Chords and harmonic symbols.
Lesson 8: Key points in forming ensembles - considering decision-making methods.
Lesson 9: Content and significance of musical expression.
Lesson 10: Key points in music appreciation instruction.
Lesson 11: Musical play and improvisational expression.
Lesson 12: Exercises in music creation activities - focusing on the elements shaping music.
Lesson 13: Utilization of technology.
Lesson 14: Setting up concert venues and key points of stage manners, universal design in musical activities.
Lesson 15: Various instruments of the orchestra, Japanese traditional performing arts, supplemental aspects of this lecture, and our relationship with music.
