Suggestions on
Preparation and
Review
Physics:
Review the basics (about junior high school level) of topics to be covered in each lesson. The lessons will include experiments in addition to lectures. Activities that will be carried out during lessons and reviewing after each lesson will be important to cultivate applied skills.

Chemistry
Preparation and advanced assignments will be given at each lesson. These assignments would be your opportunities to think about the contents of teaching materials and experiment methods at elementary schools from the standpoint of a teacher who teaches chemistry experiments to young children.

Biology
Every lesson will require the basic knowledge (about junior high school level). Prepare for every lesson by yourself, except when a preparation assignment is given for some lessons. Exploratory work such as confirming what is covered in a lesson by observing living organisms that you are familiar with and biological phenomena is expected to be done as review of lessons(report assignment will be given for some lessons).

Geoscience:
Focus around the contents of teaching materials concerning geoscience for elementary schools. As teaching materials concerning geoscience are natural events themselves, it is important to consciously focus on nature regularly. Observation assignments will be given in a lesson. Students are expected to observe listed objects to observe steadily.

Science for elementary schools:
It is desirable to read through the MEXT’s curriculum guideline of science for elementary schools from a book or MEXT’s website (http://www.mext.go.jp/a_menu/shotou/new-cs/youryou/syokaisetsu/index.htm).
Requirements Students will be divided into 4 classes. Check the message board and go to the designated room.
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on class performance, reports, and tests of elementary science subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science.‘ The sum of scores of those subjects will be a final grade. ‘Knowledge and Understanding’ is the main outcome of this course. Therefore, students’ grades can be considered as the achievement of the students.
