This course explains theories and practice of social studies for elementary schools, particularly objectives, contents, and methods, to cultivate practical knowledge, behavior, capacities to design and develop excellent lessons for social studies for elementary school students.
 
Class Schedule lesson1: Orientation. The outline and the viewpoint of this lecture
lesson2: This lesson is to explore the key to successful social studies class, by analyzing videos of lessons and records of actual lessons.
lesson3: Basic characteristics and problems of teaching social studies for elementary schools
lesson4: The goal and contents of social studies for elementary schools. Explanation of curriculum guidelines for elementary school social studies
lesson5: The history of social studies education for elementary schools
lesson6: Teaching material research and course unit constitution of social studies for elementary school students

Requirements Specialized course in teaching: Teaching methods of school subject ( social studies) 
Grading Method Attending specified number of lessons or more is a prerequisite. Students will be evaluated comprehensively based on attendance, final exam, and reports.
