The texts are not taught primarily as literature, but used as starting-points for the discussion of various issues in class. These issues may include the social, historical, and psychological themes of the texts studied, the moral and political issues they raise, and other aspects of the texts which are of interest to the students. The classes will consist mainly of conversation and debate.
