Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This class is designed to have students carry out actual on-site surveys based on data determined by their “geographical field experiments,” which they will use to master specialist local survey methods that target community life, economic activity, the natural environment etc. The field trip will be conducted over four days: on the first day, all participants will conduct surveys and improve their understanding of the regional structure of the target area. From the second day until the fourth day, each individual will conduct a survey based around a theme decided in advance. These will take place primarily in the formats of oral surveys and questionnaire surveys. There will be meetings in the evenings to confirm the survey content and method of that day, and explanations and advice will be given for the next day’s survey. The destination will be discussed later.
