Considering about the region of Japan in East Asia and the social and cultural features of each region in Japan, we will consider mainly from a historical perspective. Especially lecture while focusing on various possibilities of historical materials using materials of Inland sea area of ancient and medieval, to clarify the regional nature that location environment fosters.

3: The local spread of the ancient temple and Buddhism
4: Wooden note and earthenware excavated in the Kokubunji remain of Aki province
5: Ancient national religious service
6: Historic development of the festival of Itsukushima Shrine
7: Original scenery of the port town
8: Faith and folklore of Tomo-no-Ura
9: Regionality and the internationality that an article put in a  Taizo-ji tenple's Buddha statue shows
10: Reservation and repair of Buddha statue and local area
11: Manors in Inland sea area and local requirement
12: Lost letters of "Bingo-no-kuni Fudoki" and the faith on "Gion"
13: Story of the Ondo Channel excavation and local community

1. Read the basic literature about the history of the ancient and medieval Setouchi area and prepare it.
2. Think about one remain from the viewpoint of the compound eyes of international relations and the community.
3.  Read the relationship of the local society from the relics of the ancient temple ruins which are excavated from the place.
4. Think about the possibility of a wooden note and an ink stone pottery for the document history.
5,6. Think the nation and local relations, spread to local regions of the culture from the faith for gods.
7,8.  Think about preservation and succession of the scene and culture from the  history of the port town.
9,10.  Read the local history from cultural assets, and think about the way of the preservation.
11.  Think about regionality in Inland sea area from the formation and distribution of the manor.
12,13,14.  Think about the historic process that faith and folklore produced in local community.
15, Let's wear a viewpoint to think historically about a problem of the modern society.
 
Requirements Bring a notebook PC by all means every time to carry out a Quizzes and comment during class by moodle

Because lecture contents are the same, The student who studied specialized subject "History of Japanese Culture" of the School of Integrated Arts and Sciences of the fourth term in 2020, please do not study it.
