Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The Earth's climate has remained warm and humid for so long due to the stabilizing effect of the carbon cycle. This lecture facilitates understanding of the climate stabilizing effects maintained by the earth, using cases of climate change from the paleoclimate of 500 million years ago to the present. In particular, this lecture aims to deepen understanding of the current state of climate stabilization mechanisms, focusing on the Precambrian Snowball Earth events, the end-Permian mass extinction crisis, and the current global warming caused by human activities. |
