In Anthropology of Health I & II, we will explore how to use the methods and theories of ethnography to understand issues related to the human experience of health and illness in the contemporary world.

Students are required to take Anthropology of Health I & II simultaneously. Course I mainly delivers lectures, while Course II centers on discussions. 
Class Schedule Week 1: Anthropological perspectives on health and illness
Weeks 2 and 3: Ethnographies of medical anthropology
Week 4: Health, gender, and sexuality
Week 5: What is toxic about masculinity?
Week 6: Feminist perspectives on health and illness
Weeks 7: Feminist perspectives on health sciences
Week 8: Discussion

Students are expected to read papers suggested by the instructor and search for related materials. 
Requirements Students are required to take Anthropology of Health I & II simultaneously.
Students are expected to share their ideas in class discussions. However, fluency is not required. Instructor will guide them to express their ideas using plain English.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Having been an officer at a diplomatic mission abroad, the lecturer would discuss how knowledge of anthropology is related to global health knowledge and interventions.
